Multi-county police pursuit ends in arrest of armed robbery suspect

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Kentucky State Police Post 15 says an armed robbery suspect led troopers on a vehicle pursuit.

KSP says it received a call from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday morning regarding a vehicle suspected in an armed robbery at a convenience store in Monticello. A deputy was pursuing the truck.

A 2008 Ford F-150 was traveling west on KY 40 through Clinton County and into Cumberland County. KSP Troopers located the vehicle and continued the pursuit.

KSP says the truck continued north on KY 61 in Adair County. Troopers deployed a tire deflation device and the truck stopped near the intersection of KY 61 and KY 55 Bypass in Columbia. Troopers apprehended the suspect.

The suspect, Christopher Guinn, 36, of Central City, is charged with fleeing or evading police – 1st degree (motor vehicle), wanton endangerment – 1st degree (police officer), receiving stolen property, dui – 1st offense, terroristic threatening – 3rd degree, speeding 26 or more over the speed limit, no operator’s license, and other traffic violations.

Guinn is lodged at the Adair County Regional Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
