Moss Middle School names new principal

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Tuesday afternoon, Warren County Public Schools welcomed in new leadership.

School staff and WCPS council members gathered to celebrate the new principal of Henry F. Moss Middle School. Mr. Monte Cassidy was announced as the next principal of the school.

As a Warren Central graduate himself, he has over 20 years of experience. He started his teaching career teaching in special ed and physical education in other school systems before returning to Warren County.

Cassidy is said to be known for building culture and increasing growth in education. Superintendent Rob Clayton credits how special it is for Cassidy to join the WCPS family. Clayton believes that being in education in today’s society is very comprehensive and challenging. He says it is crucial for an educator to have leadership skills and passion. Beaming, Clayton says “it is very evident that Monte has the passion.”

Clayton reveals that Cassidy was one of nine considered for the job. He adds that he and his on-site panel, consisting of Moss Middle staff and parents, chose the candidate that would best fit.

Cassidy is thrilled to make a comeback to his alma mater. He has “always [had] a love for the navy and white.” Cassidy says he is honored to “help support” his students and be a mentor to them.

Mr. Cassidy has been serving as the interim principal since September 2024. He is thrilled to make it official.
