Morgantown’s Aerospace Composite Solutions to receive 2025 Kentucky Aviation Achievement Award

Aerospace Composite Solutions

MORGANTOWN, Ky. — The Aviation Museum of Kentucky has announced Aerospace Composite Solutions will receive the 2025 Kentucky Aviation Hall of Fame Aviation Achievement Award.

The award will be presented at the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Nov. 1 in Lexington, with the event starting at 5 p.m.

Tickets for the event are available through Oct. 24.

Founded in 2009, Aerospace Composite Solutions began with a clear purpose: to design and produce advanced composite components for aircraft, starting with a cowling for the Cessna 208B Caravan as part of Black Hawk Aerospace’s engine upgrade program. Since then, ACS has grown into one of Kentucky’s leading aerospace manufacturers—proving that high-tech innovation can thrive in the Commonwealth.

In 2025, the company reached a significant milestone with the opening of its new $18 million, 150,000-square-foot manufacturing facility. This state-of-the-art operation specializes in precision aerospace components used in critical defense, aviation, and firefighting systems worldwide. ACS’s commitment to excellence and reliability has earned it a reputation for producing components that meet the most demanding industry standards.

Equally remarkable is the company’s approach to workforce development. Rather than hiring only experienced technicians, ACS trains individuals with strong work ethics and a willingness to learn. That approach has paid off: the company enjoys an employee turnover rate of just 8%, far below the national manufacturing average. Many team members are now second-generation workers, continuing a proud family tradition in advanced manufacturing.

Through partnerships with local schools, the University of Louisville, and the Kentucky Manufacturing Extension Partnership, ACS is helping to prepare the next generation of aerospace professionals. The company enjoys strong support from city, state and federal leaders who recognize its economic and technological impact.

The 2025 Aviation Achievement Award celebrates not just the company’s technological success, but its enduring commitment to Morgantown’s people, progress, and potential.

The event will be held on Nov. 1 at the Aviation Museum of Kentucky, located at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington. Tickets can be purchased until Oct. 24.
