More information released on temporary closure of Russell Sims Aquatic Center
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Russell Sims Aquatic Center’s closing date is fast approaching.
The pool will be open until Aug. 7, when it must be shut down for maintenance and repairs.
Pool goers have noticed a giant crack by the pool, and staff want to address this issue before the pool opens back up next summer.
Even though its 23rd season is ending a bit prematurely, this will allow the pool to be enjoyed for many years to come.
“Really, any time that we build a facility, offer a program, have a service here in our community, it’s to really serve our community and enhance quality of life. We want this facility to continue to do that for decades to come. So, we’ve just got to address some things,” Cameron Levis with Bowling Green Parks & Recreation says.
During the pool’s last few days open this season, there will be a STEAM night partnership with Warren County Public Library, as well as a superhero night.
