TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky- On Friday Dec. 26 around 2:30 P.M. the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a member of the Monroe County Department of Community Based Services to accompany a complaint they received on Akersville Road.
Upon arrival the sheriff’s office failed to make contact with the owner, but when approaching the garage they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside.
The Sheriff’s office says they saw in plain view a tote filled with marijuana plant stems, and marijuana residue on the floor.
Officers also located several bags filled with marijuana inside.
While the officers were at the residence, owner Danny Ray Russell returned home.

Russell was then arrested and transported to the Barren County Jail.
