Mom denied bond after being accused of taking nude pictures of daughter

In Pikeville, a woman accused of making pornographic images of her 4-year-old daughter, to share with her boyfriend, has been ordered to be held without bond.

Christina Mitchell, 29, sought release pending trial, but U.S. Magistrate Judge Edward Atkins ruled that no set of bond conditions would protect the public. According to the Lexington Herald-leader, Mitchell’s phone contained multiple photos of one of her daughters posed with her genitals displayed.

In Atkins’ order, he said, "facts established by clear and convincing evidence show that the defendant, Christina Mitchell, actively participated in the production of lewd images of her own children for the satisfaction of another without acting in any way protect them."

Both Mitchell and her boyfriend face at least 15 years in prison if convicted.

Mitchell’s trial is set for January, while her boyfriend, Jonathan Manigault’s whereabouts are not known at this time.
