MLK A Night with the King: Hidden Voices of the Dream

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The national MLK holiday is almost here, and many members of the Bowling Green community kicked off the celebration Thursday night.

At State Street Baptist Church, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. planning committee came together with city officials and many members of the community to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and remember all of the work he has done to maintain the movement of his dream.

Felicia Bland, the chair of the MLK Planning Committee, shares the importance of honoring King.

Bland says, “This is a day not only to remember Dr. King but just to remember that we all are brothers and sisters. This is our community, just our place to land. And we just want to make sure that we keep the legacy of Dr. King alive. ”

This is just the beginning, and the holiday will also be celebrated this Monday at 7:30 a.m. at the Memorial Breakfast for $15 at the door. At 10 a.m. at the Warren County Justice Center, the memorial march will take place.
