Metcalfe students selected for Washington Tour

EDMONTON, Ky. – Metcalfe County High School is recognizing two students who have been selected to represent Farmers RECC on its annual Frankfort and Washington Youth Tours.
Metcalfe County High School juniors Jozie Allen and Corinne Keller are two of four regional award winners chosen by the electric cooperative to attend the “Government in Action” Youth Tour, the district says.
Metcalfe County Schools says this is the fourth consecutive year that MCHS will be represented at the tour.
“We are excited that Farmers RECC has invited two of our Hornets this year to take part in this one-of-a-kind educational opportunity,” principal Joseph Eaton said. “Jozie and Corinne will be excellent ambassadors for our school and community. Both are stellar students who can bring new ideas to our state and national leaders. We can’t wait to hear about their experiences when they return.”
Kentucky is among 45 states to send youth delegations to the annual electric cooperative youth tour, the district says. The students visit the U.S. congressional chambers, participate in energy and grassroots government education sessions and go sightseeing in Washington, D.C.
Allen is the 18-year-old daughter of John and Tammy Allen of Edmonton, while Corinne is the 17-year-old daughter of Rose Rovera Saltsman and Pete Saltsman of Edmonton.
