Metcalfe County student collects coats for kids

EDMONTON, Ky. – A Metcalfe County Elementary School student is giving a vital resource to children in need this holiday season.

Fourth-grade student Harper Parnell of MCES recently hosted a Winter Coat Drive for Kids as her Beta service project, according to Metcalfe County Schools.

The district says all donations to the MCES Family Resource Center will be distributed to the children of Metcalfe County.

In total, school officials say Harper collected 30 coats, 20 sets of gloves and mittens, nine hat and glove sets, four pairs of socks, two scarves and one blanket.
