Metcalfe County School District selects next superintendent

EDMONTON, Ky.- The Metcalfe County School District named its new superintendent Tuesday evening.

Josh Hurt was selected after a unanimous vote by the school board.

Hurt will replace Dr. Benny Lile, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Hurt’s contract is effective July 1, 2020 and will run through June 30, 2024.

Hurt is a native of Monroe County and has 23 years of experience in education, with the past six years in the Metcalfe County School District.

Hurt was hired as the Metcalfe County girls basketball coach in 2014 and since then has served as high school curriculum coach, middle school assistant principal and most recently, the district director of instruction.
