Metcalfe County renovates public library; plans to finish by next year

EDMONTON, Ky. –The Metcalfe County Public Library is in the early process of building their new updated facility.  The project involves a new addition and renovation to the current building.

The new addition will build a rear entrance, a 1,196 square foot community space that includes a kitchen, a quiet study room, a family restroom and extra storage.

Renovators will transform the current library facility to include a multi-purpose meeting space for programs and activities, a relaxed seating area, a small conference room and an expanded children’s area.

Public library director Kasey Warf said the town can’t wait to see the addition that will hopefully be completed by this time next year.

Everybody’s super excited that we’re going to be able to expand programming and services, and everybody’s just been super positive about it, super excited,” Warf said.

While construction is going on, the public library is temporarily operating out of the former Metcalfe County Elementary School library.
