Metcalfe County High School students involved in vehicle accident
EDMONTON, Ky. – Two Metcalfe County High School students were involved in a gruesome traffic accident over the holiday.
The accident took place in the evening on Thursday, Dec. 28 in Summer Shade, Kentucky. Both students were taken to a Nashville area hospital for treatment.
Joseph Eaton, the principal of Metcalfe County High School, says there has been a huge outpouring of love from the community.
“The community’s reacted much like, you know, a lot of small communities. But this one special, when something when tragedy strikes, the community always comes together and shows support and love. And you really know that you’re part of something special in Metcalf County and Edmonton,” Eaton said.
Not a great deal is currently known about the condition of the two students, but the school has used its resources to allow students in the small high school an outlet for any grief over the injury of their classmates and friends.
“They know that if they need to talk to somebody, you know, up here in the office, they’re open to come and talk to anybody up here. We’ve also gotten our guidance counselor, Ms. Morgan, and then our mental health specialist, Ms.. Heidi Coleman, that students can go and confide into,” Eaton said.
