Memorial Day weekend events and attractions to stay out of the rain
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With the unofficial start to summer coming up, many families in the area may be wondering what will keep them out of the rain.
The Reindeer Farm is set to host their Spring Fling, which will allow visitors to see their antlers in a velvet state, meaning they’ll be soft.
The National Corvette Museum is also open, but if you want something to tie in with remembering those who served our country, the Aviation Heritage Park is getting a donation from NASA in the form of a replica spaceship.
This will tie in with a local who has played a huge part in the organization who was on that ship when it launched.
“Memorial Day is obviously extremely important for our nation and for locals as well, and we always want to have the opportunity to have entertainment when available. I am especially excited that the Aviation Heritage Park is hosting this Monday event because I think it ties in really nicely to the holiday and will provide families with the chance to get out and about and experience something new,” says, Lauren Guess, communications manager with Visit BGKY.
The replica of the space shuttle Atlantis will be unveiled on Memorial Day morning at 9 a.m. at the Aviation Heritage Park.
The exhibit will also tell the story of Col. Terry Wilcutt, a Logan County native who was the pilot of Atlantis as well as a few other space missions.
