Medals awarded to individuals at Warren County Fiscal Court session
BOWLING GREEN Ky.-Friday morning, a Warren County Fiscal Court honored several people who have made an impact in the community.
Wayne Mayfield was a post commander with Kentucky State Police. He came to work for the parks department to help build a safer park system as the county’s park police patrol. He is now retired.
Also receiving medals were the children who won at the national level in the Soapbox Derby. Nathan Christian and Kelsey Sanford were in attendance to receive their medals.
Warren County attorney Amy Milliken says this was a great way to bring some joy to the fiscal court room.
“It’s fantastic amid all of COVID to be able to celebrate people. We were able to celebrate Wayne Mayfield who was a post commander at KSP, a 47-year veteran of law enforcement. We also got to celebrate all the children who won at the national level at the soapbox derby. today’s been a great day in court,” Milliken said.
Cameron Martin was another Soapbox Derby winner, and while he couldn’t make it to the meeting, he was still celebrated.
