BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Monday afternoon, Med Center Health recognized and honored its very own with the annual Nursing Awards Ceremony.

Many nurses and family members were in attendance as many awards were given out, including the Rookie of the Year, the Faye White Leadership Award and the Nurse of the Year.

Her willingness to go above and beyond for those in her department and the community were the driving force for her taking home the award, something she was grateful for.

“It feels wonderful. I’ve been a nurse for ten years now, And I’ve worked really hard. I’ve trained a lot of people gone above and beyond and gotten certifications. I do eye exams on the babies and constantly trying to improve the care. And it just really is a great honor,” Carter said.

Honoring nurses like Jaclyn and all other employees of Med Center was something that the hospital felt they needed to do.

Not only do they hold the award ceremony, but a months worth of events during the month of May to show appreciation for everything they do for the community.

“Nurses work so hard. The 12 hour shifts that turn into 14 hour shifts, day in and day out. And, it’s really the face of what we do all the time are the nurses. And you just really can’t say thank you enough,” said Katrina Wood, executive vice president and chief nursing officer at Med Center.
