Med Center Health recognizes National EMS Week 2025

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – National EMS Week is a time for communities to pause, celebrate and shine a light on the emergency medical services that save lives every day.

Established in 1974 by President Gerald Ford, this week recognizes the dedication and impact of EMS professionals across the nation.

Seth Wilson, Medical Center EMS director, says, “I’ve always wanted to help people. We choose to help people in their darkest moments.”

That mission of compassion can drive EMS workers to go above and beyond, often in challenging and emotional situations.

Despite a national shortage in emergency medical services, these first responders continue to answer the call.

Wilson acknowledges the growing need, saying, “It’s an ever-increasing need to have more people interested in the health care field.” The work they do is often overlooked—until someone’s life is on the line. Yet, they expect nothing in return, motivated only by the lives they change. “Our main goal is getting there,” Wilson adds, capturing the heart of their service. This week serves as a reminder to thank those who are always ready when we need them most.
