Med Center Health employee named to Kentucky Board for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy
FRANKLIN, Ky.- Med Center Health’s Nancy Uhls is being named to the Kentucky Board for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy. She is the first African American to be named to this state board.
The board was created to promote, preserve and protect the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens in the Commonwealth.
Uhls is the lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist with The Medical Center at Franklin. She got the call that she received the honor when she was sitting with her two daughters and she could hardly believe it.
Uhls hopes that she can be an example and role model to young girls, and let them know that they can do anything they set their mind to.
“It was a very emotional moment, I kind of get teary eyed just thinking about it now. But I just feel so blessed and so fortunate to have been selected and as a black woman I want to be able to show my children that you can achieve anything that you want if you just go for it,” said Uhls.
The members of the board are appointed by Governor Beshear and are selected by meeting specified qualifications and experience.
