Med Center expert shares advice for National Physical Fitness and Sports Month

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, and maintaining good physical fitness is paramount to living a long and healthy life.

Some people, however, might struggle to get started on a regimen and keep it going.

News 40 spoke to Med Center Health’s director of health and wellness, Sarah Widener, who said starting a plan does not have to be hard.

Setting small achievable goals, like drinking more water, or going for walks, can improve your fitness and wellbeing and start a pattern for you to continue to live a healthier lifestyle.

Widener also says that if parents want their children to live a healthier, they must set a good example. Children will usually mimic their parents behaviors and making healthier choices will help kids make better and healthier decisions.
