Mead named to Preseason All-CUSA Team
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU women’s basketball senior guard Alexis Mead was named to the Preseason All-Conference USA Team, the league announced on Thursday, Oct. 10. The preseason team is voted on by the league’s coaches. The Lady Toppers were picked to finish fourth in the coaches poll.
Mead earned All-CUSA Second Team and CUSA All-Defensive Team honors last season after leading the league in steals and having the third most assists. This is the second career Preseason All-CUSA honor for Mead, also earning the recognition in 2023.
The Moreno Valley, California native led the team in assists, steals, 3-pointers made and 3-point percentage and led the team in scoring during CUSA play putting up 12.3 points per game.
Mead and the Lady Toppers will unofficially tipoff the season with an exhibition against Lee University on Tuesday, Oct. 29 in E.A. Diddle Arena at 6 p.m. The game will serve as the Lady Toppers’ second annual Top’r Treat event with trick-or-treating before the game. Doors open at 5 p.m.
