McHenry named to NABC All-District First Team

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU men’s basketball junior guard Don McHenry was selected as a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District 11 First Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

The All-Conference USA First-Team selection led the Tops in scoring in 2023-24 while charting as the league’s third-leading scorer. The Milwaukee native averaged 15.2 points per contest on 46% shooting from the field, good for third best in CUSA.

The Hilltopper guard eclipsed 20 points or more on eight separate occasions this season, including a five-game stretch of scoring 20-or-more points. McHenry posted a season-high 30 points against Wright State on Dec. 12 to help lift WKU to a 91-84 victory on the road.

The junior’s postseason play was highlighted by a 25-point performance in the CUSA title game against UTEP, as McHenry and the Tops’ secured the CUSA Tournament Championship and an automatic ticket to the 2024 NCAA Tournament. The performance earned McHenry CUSA Tournament MVP honors.

WKU enters the NCAA Tournament seeded No. 15 and is set to face No. 2 seed Marquette in the First Round on Friday, March 22 at 1 p.m. CT. The game will air live on TBS with Kevin Harlan, Stan Van Gundy and Dan Bonner on the call.
