Mayor Todd Alcott & Bowling Green City Commissioners take part in swearing in ceremony

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – City Commissioners Dana Beasley Brown, Melinda Hill & Sue Parrigin as well as Mayor Todd Alcott are sworn in for their latest term on Tuesday.

Each of them are returning to office after being voted in for a new term in November.

Judge David Lanphear administered an oath that the mayor and three commissioners took, that’s been in use since the 1800’s.

Above is just some of the ceremony, as all four take this oath:

“I, Todd Alcott… I, Dana Beasley Brown… I, Sue Parrigin… I, Melinda Hill… do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the Commonwealth… and be faithful and true to the Commonwealth of Kentucky so long as I continue as citizen thereof.”

Commissioner Carlos Bailey was also set to be sworn in, but he wants to make sure his family is in attendance for the moment… so he will be sworn in on December 19th.
