Matthew 25 AIDS Services expands with new Bowling Green location

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Matthew 25 AIDS Services officially opened the doors to its new Bowling Green facility Thursday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The nonprofit, which started nearly 30 years ago, provides care and support for individuals at-risk for, living with, or affected by HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Their mission is to empower clients to live long, healthy and fulfilling lives through mental health counseling, group therapy and other support services regardless of identity, background or circumstances.

Matthew 25 currently serves 37 counties across Kentucky and Indiana, caring for more than 1,000 patients. After several years on Fairview Avenue, the organization has now moved into its new location at 944 Fields Drive, Building 102.

“It just made sense that we expanded,” said Rachel Trout, public relations and fundraising specialist for Matthew 25 AIDS Services. “We started that with telehealth services, transporting individuals to our Henderson location. And it just made sense for us to be centrally located here to better serve our community.”

Trout added that awareness remains a major focus of the organization’s mission.

“Believe it or not, a lot of people don’t realize that they’re impacted by HIV until they are,” Trout said. “So we focus not only on the HIV portion for those who are living with HIV, but also focus heavily on our prevention measures, which include harm reduction, safer sex supplies, and PrEP — a daily preventative medication for those at high risk for HIV.”
