Marion County teacher charged with sexual offenses

LEBANON, Ky. – A Marion County Schools teacher is facing charges after allegations of sexual contact with students.

According to the Kentucky State Police, in late May 2026, troopers received a request for assistance from the Lebanon Police Department to investigate allegations of possible sexual contact between 34-year-old Adam McRay of Lebanon and at least two juvenile students.

Authorities say McRay was employed by Marion County Schools as a teacher and served as the Marion County High School band director at the time of the alleged offenses.

On Aug. 6, authorities say the investigation was presented to the Marion County Grand Jury, which returned an indictment on McRay, charging him with 17 counts of first-degree sexual abuse.

On Monday, Aug. 10, authorities say they served an indictment on McRay at a residence in Marion County. McRay was arrested and lodged in the Marion County Detention Center.

The investigation remains ongoing. Additional charges are potentially forthcoming in other counties.
