Margaret Munday display teaches local woman’s story
RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – You can stop by the Logan County Public Library in February to view three displays honoring local living legend Margaret Munday.
The Macedonia Baptist Church of Auburn provided both library patrons and Logan County residents with some historical snapshots into the outstanding legacy and service of Munday.
Munday, a retired music teacher from Auburn, holds a special place in Western Kentucky University’s history of diversity as the first African American undergraduate student to attend classes on the Hill.
That display is up and available for viewing during normal library hours. Currently, hours are posted as 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
