Man sentenced to 18 years in Bowling Green homicide case

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison in connection with a 2022 Bowling Green homicide case.

According to court records, 67-year-old Larry Sutton was sentenced Monday to 18 years in prison in connection with the death of Stephanie Jackson.

Sutton was found guilty of second-degree manslaughter in August, court records state, a charge that was amended down from an initial charge of murder.

In November 2022, police stated Sutton entered the Bowling Green Police Department lobby covered in blood. Sutton reportedly told officers he had been in “a fight with his girlfriend at their residence.”

Bowling Green police say they forced entry into the home on Bellevue Avenue for a welfare check. Inside of the home, officers say they found Jackson dead.

Sutton remains at the Warren County Regional Jail on a $500,000 cash bond. Court records state Sutton is not eligible for parole until he has served a decade in prison.
