Man pulled from building during early morning fire in Laurel County

LONDON, Ky. – A portion of Main Street in downtown London remains closed following an early morning fire on Tuesday.

According to Laurel County Emergency Management, there is a potential for traffic disruptions following a fire that began at 5 a.m. at Cunnagin & Cunnigan Law Offices.

Emergency officials say a man was pulled from the burning building and transported to Lexington. He is reportedly in good condition.

At this time, London police say Main Street is closed from Third Street to Eighth Street. Drivers should avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Shortly before 9:30 a.m., emergency officials confirmed the road section will remain closed for several more hours.

The London City Fire Department responded, along with assistance from the Laurel County Fire Department, East Bernstadt Fire and Rescue, Bush Fire Department and Lily Fire and Rescue. Also assisting was the London Police Department, KY, London – Laurel Rescue Squad and Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County.
