Man pleads guilty to charges connected to fatal Lovers Lane crash

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Tennessee man has pleaded guilty to multiple charges following a deadly Lovers Lane crash that claimed the life of a Bowling Green woman, according to court records.

Court records say on Friday, 32-year-old Ryan Bagwell of White House, Tennessee entered a guilty plea to charges of vehicular homicide when under the influence of a substance, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance, fourth or greater offense, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine) and tampering with physical evidence.

Initially, Bagwell was charged with murder and trafficking in a controlled substance ,which were amended, along with possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal mischief, possession of marijuana and additional drug trafficking charges, which have since been dismissed, according to court records.

This follows a fatal crash that claimed the life of 40-year-old Ashley C. Porter of Bowling Green on July 24, 2024.

Bagwell was identified as the driver that struck Porter’s vehicle early that morning while both were traveling on Lovers Lane, according to police.

Police say they determined Bagwell was traveling north on Lovers Lane when he drove into Porter’s lane as she was traveling south.

Bagwell remains at the Warren County Regional Jail on a $500,000 cash bond.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 24 at 2 p.m.
