Man killed in antique car crash in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A 69-year-old man lost his life Friday evening in Bowling Green while driving an antique vehicle.

According to Kentucky State Police, Gerald Andres of Floyds Knob, Ind. was killed on I-65 southbound near mile marker 26 when he lost control of his vehicle and hit an embankment, causing the car to overturn.

Troopers say Andres was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected.

Police say the vehicle was a 1955 Chevrolet.

This weekend, thousands of car enthusiasts are in Bowling Green for the Tri-Five Nationals, a celebration of 1955, 1956 and 1957 Chevrolet models.

The investigation is ongoing.
