COVINGTON, Ky. – One man could face over 280 years in prison in a child sexual abuse material investigation.

According to a release by the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office of Kenton County, 32-year-old Robbie Ray Miller of Hamilton, Ohio has been found guilty of nine counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor (child under 12), nine counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor (child under 12), one count of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor (child under 18) and one count of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor (child under 18).

The release states the jury recommended a maximum sentence for each charge, with a total sentence of 285 years in prison.

Five witnesses were called to the stand, and dozens of exhibits were shown over the course of a two-day trial, according to the release.

The release states exhibits included 10 video recordings of children being raped, sodomized and engaging in sexual performances.

“We appreciate the jury’s service to ensure justice for the child victims,” said commonwealth’s attorney Emily Arnzen. “These videos were so horrific that they cannot be unseen and each juror sacrificed some of their own mental health to make sure justice was served!”

Officials say a jury deliberated for over an hour before returning guilty verdicts to all 20 counts of the indictment. The trial ended Wednesday night.

The Covington Police Department began an investigation after receiving three online tips about a user sending videos depicting child sexual assault to other users and group chats over a social messaging platform, the release states.

After verifying a connection to the online account, officials say authorities obtained a warrant for Miller’s arrest.

Miller was eventually arrested by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Kenton County Detention Center.

While incarcerated, officials say Miller was caught “on a recorded phone call telling his girlfriend the arrest was things he did while he lived in Kentucky.”

Final sentencing is scheduled to take place before judge Kathleen Lape on April 27, 2026 in Courtroom 6B.
