Man dies after lawn mower accident in Knott County

KITE, Ky. – One man is dead following a lawn mower accident in Knott County.
On Tuesday, July 29, the Kentucky State Police says it received a 911 call at 2:49 p.m. in reference to a lawn mower accident on Kentucky Highway 7 South located in the Kite community.
Troopers say a preliminary investigation indicates 64-year-old Thomas J. Johnson of Kite lost control of his lawn mower, causing it to go over an embankment.
Authorities say the mower overturned, trapping Johnson underneath.
Johnson was pronounced dead on scene by the Knott County Coroner’s Office. Toxicology results are pending.
This incident remains under investigation.
