Man destroys property in Morgantown Walgreens

MORGANTOWN, Ky. – A Morgantown man is facing multiple charges after allegedly destroying the interior of a Walgreens.

According to a uniform citation, the Morgantown Police Department responded Monday to Walgreens at W G L Smith Street regarding an individual actively destroying property within the business.

Authorities say upon arrival, they made contact with 43-year-old Jonathan Givens of Morgantown.

Police say multiple items were scattered on the floor, with Givens appearing to lean on the shelving.

While speaking with Givens, authorities say he began to move items from their proper place to another location.

Givens was arrested.

During the investigation, authorities say Walgreens stated there were multiple areas of damage, including a toilet.

Givens was transported to the Butler County Jail without further incident.

He faces charges of menacing, first-degree criminal mischief, alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense, and public intoxication controlled substance (excludes alcohol).
