Man charged with rape, offenses involving minor in Ohio County

OHIO COUNTY, Ky. – One man is behind bars in connection with illegal sex acts involving a minor in Ohio County.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office says following a months-long investigation starting in August, 29-year-old Abel Escobar-Echeverria of Sebree was arrested on Monday.

Authorities say they served an Ohio County arrest and indictment warrant on Escobar-Echeverria.

He was transported to the Ohio County Detention Center and faces charges of third-degree rape, procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means, second-degree interference with legislative proceedings and first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor – illegal sex act under 18 years of age.
