Man charged with murder in Hart County

MAGNOLIA, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is investigating after they say one man died following a shooting in Hart County.

KSP received a call about a shooting on Monday around 5:44 p.m. on Eve Highway in the Magnolia community.

After arriving, authorities say they learned through a preliminary investigation that Dennis W. Wells, 62, of Magnolia was in a verbal altercation with William Kelleher, 31, of Glasgow.

KSP says Wells brandished a firearm before firing multiple rounds at Kelleher, which struck him multiple times.

Kelleher was flown by helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Wells was arrested and charged with murder.

He remains in the Hart County Jail on a $250,000 cash bond.
