Man charged with heroin possession after wreck in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ky. – A Tennessee man is facing drug possession charges following a collision in Simpson County.
A uniform citation states the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office responded around 4:36 p.m. to Kenny Perry Drive for a non-injury collision.
Authorities say upon arrival, they spoke with one of the drivers, 30-year-old Hayden Uhles of Hendersonville, Tennessee, who stated the collision was his fault.
Deputies say Uhles stated he had “dozed off” and entered the opposite lane of travel, which led to the collision.
During a vehicle search, deputies say they located a glass pipe with marijuana residue, a used syringe with residue and other drug paraphernalia consistent with heroin use, along with suspected marijuana.
Deputies say Uhles stated he had heroin in his possession as well.
Uhles stated he had used heroin the night prior and smoked marijuana earlier that day, according to the citation.
No injuries were reported from the collision.
Uhles was arrested and transported to The Medical Center at Franklin for medical clearance. He was later taken to the Simpson County Jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance, first offense (aggravated circumstances), first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (heroin), drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and possession of marijuana.
