Man charged with fentanyl trafficking in Breathitt County

VANCLEVE, Ky. – A Breathitt County man is facing several drug-related charges following a residence search.

According to the Kentucky State Police, troopers conducted the search shortly before 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9 at a residence on Rock Lick Road in the Vancleve community of Breathitt County.

Upon arrival, troopers say they detained the homeowner, 66-year-old Randy Spicer of Vancleve.

During the search, troopers say they located around 63 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 12 grams of suspected fentanyl, 3 grams of suspected heroin and 1.6 ounces of suspected marijuana, along with prescription pills, firearms and drug paraphernalia.

Spicer was arrested and transported to the Kentucky River Regional Jail. He was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in marijuana, trafficking in a controlled substance (heroin), hindering prosecution or apprehension and numerous additional drug and paraphernalia-related offenses.

In addition, 39-year-old Lelia Colwell of Jackson was arrested on several outstanding warrants.

The investigation remains ongoing.
