BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One man is behind bars after allegedly driving while intoxicated during a crash in Bowling Green.

According to a uniform citation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded just after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday for an injury collision on Glasgow Road.

Authorities say upon arrival, they observed a Ford Focus with severe front end damage and missing its driver side wheel.

Deputies say another vehicle down the road had flipped onto its passenger side.

Authorities say the driver of the flipped vehicle stated she was driving down Glasgow Road when another vehicle entered her lane of travel. In an effort to avoid a collision, deputies say the driver stated she ran into a ditch before she was struck by the other vehicle.

The driver of the Ford Focus, 44-year-old Jonah McClanahan of Louisville, stated he was traveling back to Louisville and that he did not remember getting off of Interstate 65 north or how he ended up on Glasgow Road, according to the citation.

Authorities say McClanahan smelled of alcoholic beverages but denied consuming alcohol before the crash.

Following Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, McClanahan was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense, first-degree wanton endangerment and failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, first offense.

McClanahan remains at the Warren County Regional Jail.
