Man charged with attempted murder in Covington shooting of 12-year-old

COVINGTON, Ky. – A man is charged after a 12-year-old boy was hospitalized for multiple gunshot wounds in Covington.
According to a uniform citation, on Sunday just before 4:50 p.m., a shooting occurred on the 4300 block of McKee Street.
Police say a male subject, identified as 19-year-old Jayden T. Marsh of Covington, was seen on surveillance stopping a vehicle around that time on scene and confronting a 12-year-old male on the sidewalk.
Authorities say Marsh can be seen running toward the child and drawing a firearm before shooting the child “at close range.”
Police say the 12-year-old sustained two gunshot wounds to his torso. He was transported to a children’s hospital with life-threatening injuries, the citation states.
Marsh was arrested the next morning and charged with attempted murder, according to police.
He remains at the Kenton County Detention Center.
