Man charged after stolen vehicle found in Bowling Green

FRANKLIN, Ky. – One man is facing charges following a vehicle theft in Simpson County.

According to a uniform citation, the Franklin Police Department responded Friday to a report of an unauthorized use of a vehicle on the 800 block of West Madison within the limits of Franklin.

Police say they were notified of a black Jeep taken from a residence.

Authorities say the caller and the registered owner stated 45-year-old Braxton Anderson of Franklin took her vehicle by physical intimidation and force.

The Bowling Green Police Department and Kentucky State Police later found the vehicle near Western Kentucky University’s campus, authorities say.

Anderson was detained and later transported to the Simpson County Detention Center.

He faces charges of theft by unlawful taking or disposition auto between $1,000 and $10,000, operating on a suspended or revoked operators license, failure to notify address change to Department of Transportation and violation of condition of release.
