Man arrested on drug, careless driving charges

FRANKLIN, Ky.- A Bowling Green man was arrested on charges of operating on a suspended license, careless driving, trafficking of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and giving police false information.

According to the arrest citation, Jeremy Cowles was pulled over by a Franklin Police Officer after the officer said Cowles was crossing the center yellow line with his driver tires.

Police say Cowles was driving on a suspended license and told him he would be taken to jail.

Upon searching Cowles’ jacket, police say they found a bag with a white substance in it, which Cowles said it was supposed to be meth.

The citation says officers also found needles, multiple pipes, a digital scale, and three bags of a clear crystal-like substance in the trunk of the vehicle.
