Man arrested on vehicular homicide charge in fatal Lovers Lane crash

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Tennessee man is facing multiple charges related to a fatal crash on Lovers Lane on Wednesday.

According to the Bowling Green Police Department, officers were called to an injury collision Wednesday at the 300 block of Lovers Lane around 6:13 a.m. Wednesday.

When officers arrived, they say they found Ashley C. Porter, 40, of Bowling Green dead as a result of the crash.

The other vehicle’s driver was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green, where officers took him into custody.

Ryan Bagwell, 30, of Whitehouse, Tennessee, was arrested.

Officers say they determined Bagwell was traveling north on Lovers Lane when he drove into Porter’s lane as she was traveling south.

Police received a search warrant for Bagwell’s blood. The toxicology screen was sent for testing.

He is charged with vehicular homicide when under the influence of drugs/substance, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (drug unspecified), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (drug unspecified), operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, possession of marijuana and second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense.

Bagwell remains at the Warren County Detention Center.
