Man arrested on drug charges following collision in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One man is facing charges related to drug possession following a wreck in Bowling Green.
According to a uniform citation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office was notified Friday around 5:23 p.m. regarding a collision on the 3000 block of Elrod Road.
Upon contact, deputies say a Bowling Green Police Department officer stated he heard a collision at Elrod Road and Emberton Road.
The citation says the officer stated he responded to check on everyone involved and came into contact with 49-year-old John Dixon, who was driving a vehicle involved in the collision.
Authorities say they detected the smell of marijuana coming from Dixon’s vehicle.
During a vehicle search, deputies say they located a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue. Authorities say Dixon stated he uses the pipe to smoke methamphetamine and that he had last smoked it at 6:30 a.m. that morning.
Officials say they further located testosterone and Trenbolone with needles, along with suspected marijuana and a pill bottle.
Dixon was arrested. Officials say following his arrest, they found also found methamphetamine in his possession.
Dixon is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third or greater offense (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, possession of synthetic drugs – first offense, possession of marijuana, second-degree possession of a controlled substance (anabolic steroid), illegal possession of a legend drug, failure to register transfer of motor vehicle and improper registration plate.
Dixon remains at the Warren County Regional Jail.
