Man arrested on child abuse charges in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Monday, Bowling Green police arrested a man accused of abusing his five-month-old baby.

According to the arrest citation, Christopher Dale Alvey, 21, and the child’s mother took the five-month-old to the Medical Center at Bowling Green where she displayed a bruise on her head and her right arm appeared to be “loosely hanging.”

Upon further investigation, police say Alvey admitted he became frustrated when his baby began crying, pulled her out of the crib by her right arm and heard a loud pop.

The citation states he told officers the bruise on her head occurred when he pulled her into his chest, and she hit his collarbone.

Alvey is charged with 4th degree assault (child abuse) and lodged in the Warren County Detention Center.

The child was transported to Vanderbilt Hospital in Tennessee for treatment of injuries.
