Man arrested on accusation of trafficking marijuana

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, Bowling Green police arrested a man on an accusation of trafficking marijuana in an apartment complex that caters to college students.

According to the arrest citation, police made contact with Lorenzo Erve, 25, in the parking lot of Campus Evolution following a drug tip.

A police officer said in Erve’s citation that he could smell marijuana from inside the vehicle Erve was driving, and he found a backpack in the backseat. The backpack contained two large plastic bags with more than 16 ounces of marijuana, according to Erve’s arrest citation.

Due to the large amount of marijuana, police say Erve was suspected to be trafficking. Erve told police the backpack was not his.

Police also found two cell phones in the vehicle as well and Erve requested his cash at the vehicle passenger’s house be retrieved, which totaled to over $1,500, according to the citation.

Police seized the phones, marijuana and cash.

Erve is charged with trafficking in marijuana eight ounces to less than five pounds, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Erve was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
