UPDATE: One dead in Bowling Green apartment shooting
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green police confirm one man is dead following a late night shooting at Campus Pointe Apartments in Bowling Green.
25-year-old Kevin Morris, of Bowling Green, was found in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds.
25-year-old, Pedro Alfaro is arrested in connection to the shooting.
Police pulled Alfaro over on Nashville Road after receiving tips from witnesses.
According to the citation, Alfaro told police he was acting in self-defense.
Alfaro told police he was involved in an altercation and shot someone. He confirmed the gun he used was inside of the vehicle according to the citation.
Officials found two handguns inside the vehicle, one of which matched the caliber used during the shooting.
Alfaro shot the victim at close range, striking the victim in the torso and chest region, according to police.
Alfaro was arrested on first degree assault charges, those charges will now be upgraded to a murder charge. He is held in the Warren County Regional Jail.
