TODD COUNTY, Ky. – One man is behind bars on multiple charges after a multi-county pursuit began in Todd County.

According to WNKY News 40 media partner WEKT, the Todd County Sheriff’s Office says it located a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Zachary Evans of Hopkinsville Tuesday night on West Jeff Davis Highway that fled from Elkton police earlier that day.

More here.

WEKT reports authorities attempted a traffic stop before Evans fled at a high speed, turning his headlights off.

Deputies say the pursuit entered Christian County and Kentucky 115 before the fleeing truck had a mechanical issue that led it to reach a stop near Bell Chapel Road.

WEKT states Evans reportedly resisted arrest and refused to comply with orders. Deputies say they located an open vodka bottle in the passenger side of the truck.

Evans was arrested. He faces charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, third-degree terroristic threatening and reckless driving.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police also assisted the Todd County Sheriff’s Office in the pursuit.
