Man arrested following pursuit from Logan County to Hopkinsville

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – A man is facing several charges after a weekend vehicle pursuit lasted through multiple counties.
On Saturday, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office says it measured a car speeding westbound around 7:30 p.m. on Hopkinsville Road.
Authorities say a radar measured the car going 118 mph before they were able to stop the vehicle near the intersection at 68/80 West and Kentucky 181 in Elkton, Kentucky. When authorities say they noticed a strong odor of marijuana and attempted to take the driver into custody for reckless driving, the vehicle fled.
A pursuit ensued, which authorities say reached over 120 mph.
The driver, identified as Alejandro Daniel, 21, of Hopkinsville, continued into Hopkinsville, where authorities say he wrecked the car on East Otis Circle.
After running from the scene, Daniel was taken into custody with assistance from Christian County deputies and Hopkinsville police. He was transported to the Logan County Detention Center.
He faces charges of speeding 26 mph or greater over the speed limit, reckless driving, resisting arrest, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle) and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense.
