Man arrested following drug bust at home in Glasgow
BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – One man has been apprehended on multiple drug charges in Glasgow.
According to the Barren River Drug Task Force, detectives worked with the Glasgow Police Department to stop 45-year-old David “Poppy” Franklin of Glasgow at a store on Sunday on Lexington Drive in Glasgow.
Authorities say Franklin was wanted on a federal arrest warrant. During the stop, the task force says it noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Officials say a vehicle search led to the discovery of two bags of marijuana and cash.
In addition, the task force says it executed a search warrant at Franklin’s residence on Lexington Drive, where authorities say they found a large amount of cocaine and methamphetamine, along with a large amount of marijuana, pills and U.S. currency.
Franklin was transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.
He faces the federal warrant for drug trafficking offenses, along with additional charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, second offense (greater or equal to 4 grams of cocaine), trafficking in marijuana (8 ounces to 5 pounds), second offense, third-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.
Authorities say additional charges are expected.
