BROWNSVILLE, Ky. – Law enforcement officers were putting more than just school supplies into a deputy’s cruiser at one of the annual Cram the Cruiser event locations in Brownsville Friday at the Family Dollar.

Edmonsonvoice.com reported a Brownsville man pulled into the parking lot that was packed with law enforcement officers, whipped into a parking spot designated for handicapped drivers and went inside the store to shop.

An Edmonson County deputy, the Edmonson County sheriff and the Brownsville chief of police were surprised, and the deputy asked the man about parking in a handicapped parking spot when he exited the store.

A deputy identified the man as Roger Harris, 37, and said Harris began swearing and become confrontational with law enforcement in front of parents and children who were gathered for the supply drive.

Harris was arrested and charged with driving on a DUI suspended license first offense, second-degree disorderly conduct and unauthorized parking in a handicapped zone.

He was lodged in the Hart County Jail.
