Man arrested after stolen vehicle located in Bowling Green

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – One man is facing multiple charges after authorities say a stolen vehicle was spotted in Bowling Green.

According to a social media post by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday around 1:24 p.m., deputies responded to Lovers Lane and Briarwood Elementary School for a report of a stolen vehicle out of South Carolina.

Authorities say they located the vehicle on Scottsville Road and Ken Bale Boulevard.

Deputies say they attempted a traffic stop behind Domino’s Pizza on Scottsville Road. However, authorities say the driver ran from the vehicle.

Authorities say they pursued the driver and lost him in the area of Culver’s.

According to deputies, a witness stated they saw the male run into the Bob Kirby Branch Library. While searching the library, authorities say the male ran out of the back door.

Deputies say they saw the male run in front of Greenwood High School and continued pursuing him again toward Greenwood Nursing and Rehab, where he was apprehended without incident.

According to authorities, a stolen rifle was found in the vehicle.

Samuel Anders Leeson, 27, of Aiken, South Carolina was arrested and charged with operating on a suspended or revoked operators license, receiving stolen property, receiving stolen property (firearm), second-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest and third-degree criminal trespassing.

He remains at the Warren County Regional Jail.
