Man arrested after Scottsville woman discovered with gunshot wound to head

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky.- A Scottsville woman was shot in the head and now a man is behind bars.

Stephen Higgason, 40, is being held in the Allen County Detention Center.

According to Scottsville police, on Friday night, officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Franklin Rd.

According to authorities, Misty McKeel, 40, was located inside with a gunshot wound to her head. Higgason was also located at the residence.

McKeel was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment. Her condition is unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
